Simple issue with Caster.fm and Proppfrexx
Simple issue with Caster.fm and Proppfrexx
Been searching the forum, but can not find a similar problem.
I configured PF to send the output from a specific dedicated mixersignal (STRM) to caster.fm for test-purpose.
This "STRM" mixerchannel takes the input from PL1, PL2, Pl3, CW, or any other fader on my D&R mixer.
Almost everything works; when I check the stream I hear the sound and I see the info I filled in "General settings > Streaming server".
So as you can see below, the genre "pop" is displayed and also the Title "Testshow" is transferred by PF to Caster.fm. But as you can see above, Now Playing from CasterFM remains empty....
In Proppfrexx I see in the "Network Streaming Monitor" that PF recognizes title and artist and that I am connected to Caster.fm. Why is the NowPlaying-information not passed through? And more important what can I do to fix this?
(CASTER FM TESTPLATFORM is the name I gave in PF to the Streaming server configuration)
(Testshow is the name i filled in at "name" under Server/Station Identification in PF)

Re: Simple issue with Caster.fm and Proppfrexx
Can you post me your streaming server settings?!
The song title update happens side-by-side, i.e. via the SHOUTcast admin interface.
This might require on some servers the Admin credentials, i.e. the admin username as well as its password.
Please click on the '?' icon at the very top right of the config dialog to get additional help...

I mailed you the settings
Re: Simple issue with Caster.fm and Proppfrexx
Thanks for your settings!
You have specified a SHOUTcast type server and you have provided a ‚Stream ID‘!
This means ProppFrexx uses the SHOUTcast v2 protocol for meta data updates.
Are you sure, that your Caster.fm Server uses SHOUTcastv2 server?
I assume, that they use ICEcast servers.
Eg. switch the server type to ICEcast.
If you are sure that it is SHOUTcast , maybe it’s a v1 server, ie. remove the Stream ID value.

Re: Simple issue with Caster.fm and Proppfrexx
That did the trick. Stream is now set to "Icecast". PF then automatically takes OGG as encoder. I had to change that in "MP3". And than everything worked fine. Thanx Bernd!
