When searching for music in the different categories I often lose the selections. Since the book logos have a check mark, it is difficult to read. you can adjust this log to a logo without this white border.

The logo's all of the same size - so it wouldn't make any difference.
I also don't get what exactly you mean?
It looks, like in your case you have under each category only one library?
Other users have many libs under a category.
As such you can select the category checkbox to effectively select all libs within that catgory. IN your case this might make not much sense...but for other users this is very usefull.
So it never loses the selections - it actually works absolutely as designed.
I.e. the checkbox in front of the category (book) implicitly selects as a shortcut all libs underneath. However, once restored, all these libs are still kept selected.
