Crash after restart

Post by claudius06 »

Hello Bernd,

After restarting the computer, PF launches and crashes right after displaying "Please wait, initializing audio devices...".
Could you help me?

Thank you,
Claude.

The mentioned module: CTFXAS64.dll
Is where it crashes.

But this module doesn’t belong to ProppFrexx. However ProppFrexx might use this system driver, eg. it might be part of your audio device or any other device driver?!

What have you changed? Have you maybe just copied all config files from another PC?

Close PF. Go to the ProppFrexx AppUserData folder and delete the file called ‚Default.mixer‘.
Then restart PF.

If that doesn’t help. Close PF and delete the entire ProppFrexx AppUserData folder.

Thank you for your reply.
In the meantime, I tried a system restore to a recent date, but it didn't change anything. So, I am currently undoing the restore.
I added a video card earlier this month, but when I restarted the computer, PF restarted without any issues.
However, I noticed just before doing a system restore today that the installation of this video card (NVIDIA) led to the installation of an audio driver. I suspect this is where the problem lies. I tried to remove it, but I couldn't.
So, I'm waiting for the undoing of the system restore to finish, and then I'll proceed with deleting the default.mixer file (is there any risk of losing my audio configuration by doing this?).

I was finally able to remove the driver installed by NVIDIA. PF restarted immediately after the computer reboot.
Thank you so much for your quick response.

Then just delete the „Default.mixer“ file as explained and all should be good again.

After deleting 'Default.mixer', I need to restart PF or not? I ask this because I'm On Air.

As written. You close PF. Delete the file. And the start PF again.
The question is therefore obsolete.
