Strange streaming behaviour this morning
Hello Bernd,
This morning, the streaming went "crazy," meaning the sound of the tracks was chopped, sped up, and there were numerous stream interruptions. As a result, the radio repeatedly switched to the backup program on the streaming server. This caused listeners to hear back-and-forth transitions between a chopped and sped-up track and a song from the backup, all happening in a loop every few seconds.
It seemed like a sampling or packet recovery issue (On the Monitoring output of ProppFrexx, no problem, the program was running normally).
It wasn’t due to a network problem or the streaming server, as I tested sending audio from another software (Mixxx) on a different computer, and the sound was stable.
I restarted ProppFrexx and also rebooted the PC, but the issue persisted.
I ended up creating a new connection in the Network Streaming Monitor, using a new WMA profile, and it seems more stable now. Since I’ve been monitoring, there has only been one brief interruption of a few seconds.
Do you have any idea what might have caused this and how to prevent it in the future?
Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately no.
But I must assume a local network issue.
As it was running fine in the past and no change in the software took place, I am also lost what might be your issue. Especially I haven’t heard from similar issues from other customers or experience that myself.

Thank you for your answer.
Indeed, it's all the more strange since there haven’t been any changes to the configuration between yesterday and today.
However, I don’t think it’s a local network issue because everything worked fine on the same network from another computer using Mixxx.
The issue completely disappeared when switching the profile to WMA instead of MP3. Is there a way to check this in the logs?

When an issue arises all of a sudden, my experience is that something somewhere must have changed. We/you might have not discovered yet. This can be almost anything.
One difference is that it runs on other PCs. Ie. it works on the Backup and the 2nd PC you tried with Mixx.
WMA and MP3 are just different codecs, with different bandwidths. So that still sounds like a local issue to me.
In the logs there is no info about that, as codecs don’t have anything to log.
But if you record the output and this is file, it can only be on the layer after, ie. the encoding and sending via the network.

I’d like to point out that PFOA only runs on a single PC, the broadcast one. Mixxx, on the other hand, is on Mac. It might be a local issue, but I’m afraid it’s happening on the broadcast PC. I completely agree with you when you say that something likely happened between yesterday and today. Unfortunately, with Windows, even when all updates are disabled, some things still manage to get through without us noticing.

Hello Bernd,
Finally, it comes from an issue of the broadcaster.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
