PFOA stopped playing

Post by hdradio »

Hello
This morning (after 12 days of continuous playback) PFOA stopped playing the playlist resulting in dead air.
No error, no message, nothing.

I am sending you the debug log to check what is wrong.
The last song played was at 07:44 and 30 minutes later I (re)started PFOA again.
Note that I was using the previous version v3.0.14.3
Now before restarting PFOA I updated to the latest version (v3.0.14.5)

It might indeed be already solved in v3.0.14.5 - but I will investigate your logs in detail to see what happened (that might however take a bit of time ;-)

I have had exactly the same problem. Monday night and again this morning at 9.00. It seems to happen when starting a new program/playlist.
I have turned om debugging to see if anything will show. The play and overlay logs show nothing strange I believe.

I am running the .15 version.

Guess you mean the v3.0.14.5?
Yes, please send me the debug log if it happens again...
From 'hdradio's logs I currently can only see, that the loading of the next tracks to the next free DJ Players stopped; unfortunately no real hint why...and in code I can also see no reason for that so far.

Hi Bernd, today PF just stopped again while playing our daily nonstop music.
After closing and restartingf PF it got stuck in "forwarding program"... and never started to play again.

I then did a full reboot of the pc and started PF: it forwarded the program for 20-30 sec's and started playing as normal.

I will send you the log files, may be you can find something. It seems to happen after about every 4 -5 days..

hmm ok, strange not much change in the last months except the TryEnsureExactLength option has been set, can then be of any influence?

As just discussed via eMail:
If some of your media libs have a History set to -1, that might indeed explain the long forwarding time, as -1 is resolved to the number of media entries minus one – which might lead to that number of tries once an entry is found during scripting – especially when in addition you have set the ‘TryEnsureExactLength’ option with your scripts.

So my current assumption is, that getting a next track just takes longer than your playback time of your tracks and so it suddenly stops loading tracks - I still need to investigate your logs further - as this should for sure never happen!

So that could indicate an issue I was already thinking about...
It sounds, like your (global) history is again the issue.
When forwarding a program takes very long (I guess it didn't even get fully stuck; but you aborted it before it can continue).

Are you may be somewhere using a Media Library History?
As I couldn't think of any other reason why a reboot (where the MLS would also get forced to restart) would change things...?!

Additional debug log entries have been added in the v3.0.14.6.... (in case it happens again?)
