Broadcast processor versus normalization/replay gain in PF
Broadcast processor versus normalization/replay gain in PF
Hi Bernd.
If using normalization and replay gain in PF, is it needed to use also vst plugin for broadcast (jp broadcast plugin)?
Only problem is that we have the same tracks (edited and tagged in PF together with replay gain calculation, etc.) on server as on local machines. But if I use broadcast plugin, tracks played from local machine sound much louder than tracks played from AutoDJ´s server.

Yes, but I did set replay gain for these tracks and even try to normalize them with MP3gain software. So they now sound equally loud. But internal VST plugin for processing broadcast in PF does balancing the volume to same level but higher then the level of original tracks is.

That is up to you and your audio preferences.
I guess with AutoDJ you again mean this special streaming-server-sided feature, which is out of control of ProppFrexx.
Of course, if that one doesn't support ReplayGain, the tracks would be played with a different 'loudness'.

Re: Broadcast processor versus normalization/replay gain in
Sure, that's normal. The JP broadcast VST plugin is basically a multiband compressor, which increases the preceived loundness.
And as your 'AutoDJ' server-sided feature doesn't support VSTs and as such doesn't apply it - the loundness would not be the same.
So I am not sure what this has to do with ProppFrexx?

It has nothing to do directly with PF and it is not a bug. Therefore it is under section Questions and Answers.

So I am not sure then what the real question is?

I can repeat it
If using normalization and replay gain in PF, is it needed to use also vst plugin for broadcast (jp broadcast plugin)?

As answered in my 2nd post - that is up to you.
It is not a MUST.
