Which USB sound card?

Hi, I'm looking for an external USB soundcard that works well with Proppfrexx. Preferably not too expensive and with multiple (stereo) outputs. Any good experiences here? Thanks, JW.

I cannot give any hardware advise. But it should be a Pro grade one with a decent driver model. Eg. ASIO.

No other reactions here? How to connect PF with an analog mixer? How to distinguish between play and pfl audio on an analog (Eela) broadcast mixer? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. BRJW

In ProppFrexx your have the ability to define any number of mixer outputs. Each mixer output can be associated with a physical output device, i.e. an analog output.
Supported are any analog devices, multi-chanel soundcards etc. etc.

Your first question was ''which usb soundcard to use'?
You can almost use ANY!

Now you ask 'how to connect'?
This question is not clear to me, as (as said) you can configure any stereo channel pair to each mixer output channel, e.g.:
- Out 1 = Device 1 (channel 1/2)
- Out 2 = Device 1 (channel 3/4)
- PFL = Device 1 (channel 5/6)
- Out 3 = Device 2 (channel 1/2)
etc.

Hi Bernd, that sounds already promising. I’m thinking about the Behringer UMC404HD. But I was not sure if this could work with PF. I’ll try and let you know. /JW

All works well! Driver downloaded and restarted. Two stereo outputs, one for play and one for pfl. /JW

Sounds like a nice device. As it comes with an low latency ASIO driver, I would use this driver model!
