is there a way in the software to temporary monitor the mic input both prefade and postfade?

To you want to listen to the mic? If yes, you can use the SND2 function. But there is no difference between pre- or postfade, as the fader of the input channel controls the recording volume. Ie. if you lower the fader the recording is silence.
If ypu want to implement a kind of clean-feed, you can route the input to an output ‚sub-bus‘ channel and use this one.
